Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas Everyone!

Today is the final post of my Christmas Creche Countdown and I have a beautiful new creche to share on this Holy holiday! And, yes, this was my splurge of the season. You already know I prefer 75-cent price tags – or $2 price tags. I’m even okay with an occasional $5 or $10 price tag, but when I saw this creche, I splurged. It was $30.

And, no, I still haven’t ordered the pewter one I adore online. Still doubtful I’ll ever own THAT one, but that’s okay. I’m beginning to think I have enough anyway at 54! (Can’t believe I’m saying that! My resolve will waver once I see the next one that SPEAKS to me!)

I found this lovely creche in an awesome gift store I frequent (though not frequently ENOUGH) in nearby Salina. And, it spoke to me! It said, TAKE ME HOME! So, I did!

It’s another large one – just the perfect size for a centerpiece on our table, poised on top of a black faux fur table runner. I may add some greenery and an ornament or two next year, but for this year – this is it.

There are no family members around the table this Christmas – that’s a hard pill to swallow. Our son had Covid (most likely, though he didn’t test) over Thanksgiving. Our daughter’s family is now in quarantine (or at least our granddaughter is) because she was exposed by the referee at her last varsity basketball game. Actually, exposed by a teammate, too. Both tested positive so the entire team is in quarantine! Oh, the hassles of this virus!

The end of 2020 is a bit lonely for this grandma who thrives on hugs from those I love. Not complaining, though. I still HAVE those I love and I’m thankful. Some don’t. If you’re in that forever-lonely bunch, please know I’m praying for you. Grief is hard. I pray God brings gives you comfort and peace this Christmas.

On Day 25 of my Christmas Creche Countdown, I have no flowery words of wisdom or no food for thought from my keyboard…just wishing a Merry Christmas to you and yours!

May God bless your coming year with moments of joy, treasures for your heart, and peace for your journey!

Merry Christmas!
